Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Service Middletown, Connecticut District Export Council, Congressman John Larson (CT-1) and the University of Connecticut’s Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER).

You Could be Illegally Exporting Without Even Knowing!
Are you a corporation in the U.S. sharing technology with a foreign national? Are you a university conducting research with foreign nationals? Then you could be exporting! Not all exports are physical commodities, nor must they physically leave the country to be classified as an export. These are classified as “deemed exports,” or transfers of controlled information and technical data to foreign nationals.

Should You Attend?
Deemed Export compliance is handled in different ways depending upon your company or university. Personnel with the following positions will find this seminar highly pertinent to their work:

  • Company Executives
  • Export Compliance Managers
  • Office of Grants, Contracts and Sponsored Research
  • Corporate and University General Counsels
  • Participation in EU Funded Programs
  • Program Managers
  • Operations Staff

Hear What the Experts Have to Say
Speakers will share how to identify a deemed export transaction, what it means to your operations and how to address deemed export matters. Learn from the experts how your university or corporation can comply with U.S. export regulations, licensing requirements and enforcement practices.
